Meet Sophie and Chris

Westgate is growing fast — and so is its dog-loving community. But while the number of pups is booming, quality pet care options haven’t quite kept up. That’s where we come in. We opened Pets In The City Westgate to create the kind of place we’d want for our own dog — clean, calm, welcoming, and truly focused on wellbeing.

We’re Sophie and Chris — proud owners of Zoe (our lab/huntaway/bearded collie mix) and parents to Georgia, our two-year-old daughter and Zoe’s best friend. Our family knows firsthand just how much dogs mean to their humans. They’re not just pets — they’re part of the family. That’s exactly how we treat them here.

A Dog Daycare Built with Heart (and Science)

At PITC Westgate, we bring together the best of both worlds: professional dog training experience, a passion for canine wellbeing, and proven leadership in business operations. Sophie draws from her background in chemistry startups and six years running her own dog training business. Chris brings his experience leading teams across Auckland’s automotive industry. Together, we’ve created a centre that offers both structure and care, fun and safety — the ideal space for your dog to thrive.

Dogs bring so much joy into the world — they love fiercely, play hard, and remind us to slow down and live in the moment. Whether we’re helping a nervous pup gain confidence or making sure your dog has the time of their life, we feel privileged to do this work.

Every day in our Westgate dog daycare is different, but one thing never changes: the love we have for the dogs in our care.

Our Vision for Pets In The City Westgate

We don’t just want to offer dog daycare and boarding in Westgate — we want to build a true community hub for dog lovers.

In the future, we see this space hosting training workshops, local events, and maybe even the occasional dog birthday party. We want this to be a second home for dogs and their humans.

When you walk through our doors, we hope you feel instantly at ease — like, “Yes, this is exactly where my dog belongs.” Our luxury dog hotel and daycare centre in Westgate is designed to feel calm, welcoming, and clean.

Most of all, it’s filled with people who truly care. Because we know how much trust it takes to leave your dog in someone else’s hands — and we take that responsibility to heart.

Dog Daycare Pricing

As a locally owned franchise, Pets In The City Westgate sets its own pricing to best serve our customers.

The cost of Pets In The City doggy daycare in Westgate starts from $41 for a casual half day to $55 for a casual full day, offering great value for pet owners and ensuring a happy dog. Pets In The City is open for Doggie Daycare from 6.30 am to 7.00 pm, allowing your dog to spend more time with friendly dogs at the daycare. If you send your dog to doggie daycare regularly each week, the best option is to join the PITC VIP Club, which also allows you access to special discounts on other Pets In the City Goods and Services. However, our most popular option for Dog Daycare is the 10-day concession cards. These are valid for six months and allow our clients to bring their dogs to daycare at their convenience.

Our half-day is anything less than five hours, and the time starts when your dog is checked in. After five hours, our full-day rates will apply.

Dog Hotel Pricing

The below prices are effective from 01 August 2025.

DOG HOTEL FAMILY DISCOUNTS

Dogs from the same family sharing an apartment will receive $5 off each night for the second dog and $10 off for the third (or more) dog.

PEAK PERIOD RATES

A 20% surcharge will be charged during Peak periods. Peak periods include Anniversary weekend, Waitangi weekend, Easter weekend, ANZAC day/weekend, Kings Birthday weekend, Matariki, Labour weekend, December 20 until February 07 and all school holidays. Additional days may apply; this will be confirmed when booking.

PEAK PERIOD DEPOSITS

A deposit of 30% of the TOTAL Invoice is required for bookings over Peak periods.

Check-in time: 1 pm to 5 pm Check out time: 12 noon.

DOG HOTEL EARLY CHECK-IN & LATE CHECK-OUT POLICY

Early Check-Ins and Late Check-Outs are available and welcomed
Check-Ins prior to 1pm will incur an early check-in fee of $25.00
Check-Outs after the 12 noon checkout time will incur a late check-out fee of $25.00
