What makes our dog daycare so awesome?

Size Appropriate Play 2
Size Appropriate Play

We separate dogs into specific play parks depending on size and play style. We do this because dogs are all different; some are quieter than others, and some like their own space. All new daycare guests undergo an initial assessment to determine the best park for them.

Dog-Daycare-1
Facilities

Our modern and spacious indoor and outdoor play parks are designed with fun and safety in mind. Whether your dog is playing with their little friends in "Toy Town", romping with its big buddies, or even hanging out in our outdoor park, it will have plenty of space to run, jump, play, or relax – whatever the weather.

Safety First
Safety First

Your dog’s well-being and safety are our #1 priority. Their energy levels and temperament will be carefully observed while in our care.  All caregivers are trained to engage your dog safely with other dogs to provide the best experience possible for all our furry guests.

Activity Timetable
Activity Timetable

Every day there’s a new timetable with games and activities to stimulate and enrich your dog’s day. We start with free play, then move on to games like cardboard rip and bubble pop. We have rest time with blankets and classical music, time for basic training, and more play!

Icon Puppy School
Player of the Day

Every day we choose a standout dog as the player of the day. Their name is added to our park activity board and highlighted on our Facebook feeds for proud parents to celebrate!

“We Want to say a big thank you to the team at Pets in the City. The excitement from Coco when she realises we have arrived shows how much she loves coming to daycare. Your availability to listen and offer encouragement, advice, and reassurance through all the puppy stages to me was invaluable and a great reassurance. Thank you again, and will see you in daycare.”

"All staff at PITC are amazing and very friendly; we recently put Brody through the Puppy Development training courses on offer, and the wonderful Danielle took him through his paces; she did a fantastic job! After the first 6-week course, we continued and did another 6 weeks, and I noticed a real difference in Brody’s behaviour. The training was well worth it".

"We love Pets in the City! And more importantly, so does our dog, Hiro. We drop our pup off for daycare twice a week and on occasional weekends. The team is a good group of people who care for and love dogs. Hiro even comes home with better manners than when I drop him off. They play and work with the dogs and are so knowledgeable. I am so thankful!"

“Pets in the City are the best! Mocha has been a regular for the past 5 years, the team ensured that every time we visit, we were welcomed, and she was taken care of, having so much fun and staying safe and loved by the entire team. I never worry about Mocha when she’s at daycare, because from the photos I receive, she’s always chasing someone’s shoes, or trying to destroy a toy or a towel.”

“Kélia’s second home for the last 4 years, and she shows it with her excited squeals in the car on arrival. I feel confident leaving her with the amazing and experienced staff for her day of fun and cuddles. I would not want to take my girl anywhere else! Thank you PITC!”

“We have been taking our 3 ½-year-old dog to Pets in the City for most of his life. He attends 2-3 times per week due to our work commitments and the invaluable socialisation skills he gets there. To say the staff there are incredible would be an understatement. He cannot wait to enter the building and is greeted like a long-lost friend. He has had overnight stays there, and we can relax knowing how well cared for he is. If there are any concerns, the team will call to update you. If you are looking for a place to send your precious dog to for love, attention, interaction, and fun, look no further. We cannot speak highly enough of them.”

Discover Why Pets In The City Doggie Daycare in Auckland is the Perfect Choice for Your Furry Friend.

Think about a scenario where your beloved furry friend could socialise, play, and learn while you're at work or getting stuff done around town. This is the reality at Pets In The City doggy daycares in Auckland!

Finding the Perfect Match for Your fur baby

Choosing the right doggy daycare for your furry companion involves considering key traits such as boarding options, location, facilities, qualified staff, and grouping of dogs. Pets In The City dog daycares in Auckland provide supervised playtime, regular exercise, feeding, grooming services, and comfortable sleeping areas. With professional and experienced staff, we also maintain regular communication with pet parents, ensuring a safe and fun environment. The team's skills are fundamental for high-quality care, supervision, and attention, providing a pleasant experience for you and your dog.

Our convenient daycare locations minimise travel time and stress for your pup and simplify your drop-off and pick-up process, making it a natural part of your daily routine.

The Importance of Initial Assessments

Initial assessments at Pets In The City doggy daycare centres evaluate the dogs' temperament and behaviour, ensuring they are safe and will enjoy their time in the daycare environment. These assessments involve highly trained staff, meticulous supervision, and insightful behavioural assessments for dogs upon arrival. Factors typically considered during a dog's initial assessment include intake paperwork, behaviour and temperament evaluation, socialisation skills and compatibility with other dogs.

Doggy Day Care Services Beyond Just a Pet-Sitting Service

Beyond just pet-sitting, Pets In The City doggy daycares in Auckland offer additional services such as comprehensive dog training programmes and convenient overnight dog boarding options in our Pet Hotel. All Pets In The City Dog Daycare branches also offer Dog Grooming. Selecting a Dog Daycare that also offers dog grooming is an excellent option for those breeds that require regular pamper sessions in one of our modern dog grooming salons. We will examine these services and their potential to enhance your dog's daycare experience while providing a safe and fun environment. Key features of all Pets In The City Branches include:

In a dog daycare setting, positive reinforcement plays a vital role in shaping the behaviour of dogs and promoting a healthy, happy, and harmonious environment. This approach encourages desired behaviours by rewarding dogs when they act appropriately, such as playing well with others, following commands, or exhibiting calm behaviour. It's a powerful tool for effective dog training and behaviour modification, fostering a positive relationship between the dogs and the daycare staff. This method not only enhances the dog's learning experience but also contributes to a more enjoyable and stress-free dog day care environment. So, in essence, positive reinforcement is a cornerstone of successful dog daycare operations.

Access to indoor and outdoor play areas at a doggy daycare is as much fun for your dog as it is a delightful experience, keeping them physically and mentally active and discouraging destructive behaviours. Great indoor activities for dogs at day care include dog games like tug of war, bubbles, special park activities, and fun daycare games like Mega Eggs, Frisbee Toss and Scream Extreme. Meanwhile, exciting outdoor activities include water play and sleuthing out the scents.

To guarantee dogs' safety in outdoor play areas, Pets In The City doggie daycares take all necessary precautions, including supervision, compatibility grouping, secure fencing, and skilled staff.

As dog parents, you understand that small dogs and puppies have unique needs. Pets In The City offers specialised care options for small dogs and puppies at our doggy daycare facilities, including dedicated spaces and puppy care programmes.

Dedicated Spaces for Smaller Breeds

Having separate spaces for smaller breeds ensures a safe and comfortable environment for all dogs at doggy daycare facilities. Dedicated large indoor areas for smaller breeds are designed with their size and temperament in mind, and professionals group dogs based on size, character, and energy levels. These dedicated spaces can significantly enhance the dog's comfort and safety by providing a size-appropriate environment, reducing the risk of injury, socialising with dogs of similar size, and offering tailored activities and amenities.

Puppy Socialisation Programme

Puppy Socialisation programmes offer:

  • Stimulating activities

  • Safe Socialisation opportunities with other puppies

  • Supervised playtime

  • Training sessions to foster good behaviour

This programme provides your puppy with a safe and stimulating environment, ensuring proper exercise, socialisation, and attention throughout the day.

Enrolling your dog in a comprehensive dog training programme while attending daycare ensures a well-rounded experience, helping to improve their behaviour and obedience skills. Pets In The City Auckland doggy daycares offer various training programs, including basic obedience training and puppy socialisation, to ensure your pup receives the best care possible.

When searching for a dog training program at a dog daycare, you should take into account factors such as:

  • Staff training on dog behaviour and body language,

  • The evaluation process for new dogs,

  • Trainer certifications,

  • Understanding of canine body language and

  • The use of positive reinforcement.

Overnight dog boarding services at Pets In The City doggy daycares offer a convenient option when you need extended care for your dog. All Pets In The City Auckland Dog Daycare Branches offer top-notch overnight dog boarding services.

During an overnight stay, dogs receive the best care possible, including supervised playtimes, individualised attention, meals, and comfortable accommodations in our luxury dog apartments.

Prerequisites for eligibility for overnight boarding at Pets In The City Auckland doggy daycares include vaccinations, a recent health check, temperament assessment, and dogs over eight months must be de-sexed.

Making the Most of Your Dog's Day Care Experience

As a responsible pet parent, you want to ensure your dog has the best possible experience at doggy day care. We will discuss how to prepare your dog for their daycare experience and what to expect on the first day.

Preparing Your Dog for Day Care

Preparing your dog for day care begins with socialisation and vaccinations. Here are some steps to follow:

  • Start with basic obedience training.

  • Introduce them to new environments.

  • Arrange playdates with other dogs.

  • Increase exposure to new dogs.

  • Ensure your dog receives vaccinations at least 48 hours before daycare, giving them ample time to adjust.

Familiarising your dog with the daycare facility can also help them feel more comfortable and excited about their day care adventures.

In conclusion, finding the perfect doggy day care in Auckland for your beloved furry friend considers location, services, and staff expertise. At Pets In the City, you can be confident your pup will have a fantastic experience filled with fun, socialisation, and learning at a top-notch facility. So, why wait?
